The polygraph process consists of three distinct stages: the pre-test, the actual test, and the post-test.

Approximately half of the overall time is dedicated to the pre-test phase. During this phase, the subject is carefully prepared for the examination. Initially, the individual's rights are explained, and they are requested to sign a consent form. Subsequently, the examiner evaluates the subject's suitability for the polygraph test. This involves inquiring about the individual's health status and any prescription medications they are currently taking. This assessment aims to identify any factors that could hinder the test or affect its outcome.
