Bangkok is situated on the ton plains flanking both sides of the Chao Phraya Lake, Thailand's most critical waterway. Larger Bangkok is divided in to fifty districts spread out.

The center of the city lies on the Chao Phraya's western bank. Here, in the region called Ratanakosin (the Old City), Bangkok's most important palace, temples, and museums attract throngs of tourists.

East of Ratanakosin is Dusit, chair of many Thai government offices. To the south lies Chinatown, one of many earliest areas of Bangkok. To the southeast of Chinatown are Sathorn and Bangrak, Bangkok's important economic and organization districts.

The Chao Phraya's western bank consists of an area called Thonburi, which quickly served while the Thai money through the eighteenth century and that was officially absorbed by Bangkok in 1972.

Thonburi's slim canals, called khlongs, link the capital and their suburbs. In Thonburi-where citizens rely on the stream for bathing, washing, and fishing-traditional lifestyles persist in modern Bangkok's shadow.

Bangkok's hot, humid weather lasts during much of the season, with average conditions in April, usually the city's hottest month, usually hovering about 35° Celsius (95° Fahrenheit).

The damp season begins in Might and continues till October. Along with the damp season, the monsoon routine provides a winter season (November through January) and a summertime season (February through April).

Roughly 9 million people live in Bangkok appropriate, while Larger Bangkok is home to around 12 million (2010 estimate), or almost 12 percent of Thailand's whole population. Many first- and second-generation residents moved to the capital from rural areas of Thailand looking for careers and an increased normal of living.

Native Thais are not the sole persons for whom Bangkok has represented a beacon of financial opportunity. The nineteenth century found the migration of thousands of Asian personnel,

Bangkok is the main trading middle for equally Thailand and Southeast Asia. Along with its significant import-export company, the area economy also comes with a substantial manufacturing base. Bangkok factories prove vehicle parts,

handguns, housewares, textiles, pcs, and electronics. The banking and economic companies groups also play key roles. A lot more than three-quarters of most Thai bank deposits are presented in banks situated in Bangkok, and several multinational organizations have offices there.
